Water Project - June 2009

The team was very interested in visiting the water project while they were in Kenya. It was quite an adventure traveling out there as they are working on the road but not quite finished with it yet. So there is a long diversion where the road is quite bumpy and dusty. We were so excited to see how things were going at the water project. The gardens looked awesome! Everything was so lush and green and soon will be ready to be harvested! We have fruit trees, tomatoes, beans, cabbage, banana trees and probably more that I've even forgotten! This garden alone will be such a big support to the baby center. And then include the water on top of that and this project is such an investment into the future of countless babies lives! Along with the visit to the water project plot, two of our team members (Monica Lengacher and Ben Schrock) were able to ride along on some water deliveries. They enjoyed the challenge of narrow roads and driveways and watching the cisterns being filled. They also said several people were writing down the telephone # so that they could also have deliveries made to their homes. While at the baby center we witnessed countless numbers of people coming right to the gate to purchase water for their homes. It was amazing to see how God is providing not only for the baby center, but also for the surrounding community! Please pray that this project continues to thrive and that everyone involved will work to the best of their ability. In the pictures above, the gate is what was originally on the property and led to the AGC Missions plot which is right next to the Water Project. The pictures of the flowers above are on the Missions plot. As you can see, the area is quite beautiful
